2 asp

Learn about ASP Introduction in ASP tutorial (2)

ASP stands for Active Server Side Scripting. For this tutorial you need to know HTML. If you are new to ASP and don’t know HTML then check out HTML tutorial on this website. ASP is by Microsoft.

ASP is a kind of a program that runs inside IIS (Internet Information System). IIS is available as a free component with Windows 2000. It is also a part of Windows NT 4.0 Option Pack. This Option Pack is downloadable from Microsoft. Another functional version of IIS is PWS. PWS comes along with Windows 95/98.

Moreover IIS and PWS are compatible with different versions. IIS is compatible with Windows NT or any later versions. PWS is compatible with Windows 95 or later versions.

ASP can be run without Windows Operating system by using Chili ASP. Similarly, ASP can also be run without Windows by using Instant ASP.

ASP is a different from HTML in following ways:

• When an Internet browser requests the HTML file, the server simply returns the HTML file.

• But when an Internet browser requests an ASP file, this request is first passed by IIS to the ASP exchange. Then this ASP engine reads the file and executes the scripts (line by line) in the file. Then this ASP file is returned to the browser as a plain HTML file.

RSS FEED on Website/Blog

So, for last 6 hours i have been stumbling on different websites and trying to find out what the heck is RSS FEED?. Finally I got the basic idea of RSS Feed.
RSS stands for Rich Site Summary. What happens is when a blogger or any website owner creates its RSS FEED. The visitors who subscribes to their RSS FEED will automatically know about the new posts and content coming up on these blogs or websites. So, basically when someone wants to tell the world about the content of their blog or website they set up the RSS feed for their blogs or websites using Google Feed Burner etc. I prefer to use Google Feed Burner. Its easy and keeps the track of all your feeds.

But as far as RSS Feed Reader is considered. Most People use GOOGLE RSS Reader, because its easy to manage your subscribed RSS Feeds in it. For those users who already have Google Adsense account, it is extremely easy to setup the Google RSS FEED. Following is the small tutorial to setup RSS FEED using google Adsense account:

All they need to do is to go to the FEEDS link on the left sidebar in “MY ADS” section. The dialog box will appear. You need to click Get Started. Then fill in the form. If you are new to RSS, well of course you new to RSS, otherwise you would not be reading this article, then you should click on “Burn New Feed”. Then give the URL of your blog or website in it. Then choose the default choices for RSS feed type. Then click Save. Also Follow the link given on last dialog box to understand how to setup RSS Feed via blogger and wordpress. Thats all for now. In next post I will explain how to use FEED Burner.

What is XHTML and its advantages?

What is XHTML and its advantages?

XHTML stands for Extensible Hypertext Markup Language. It is also known as XML (Extensible Markup Language). It is recommended by World Wide Consortium (W3C). It is a markup language. In XHTML, there are no predefined tags. The user defines the tags to be used. These tags are used to carry data. In short XHTML was designed to carry data not to display data.

The difference between HTML and XML is that:

  • XML is basically designed to store information in structured format and transport it. It does not perform any function on information except storing it.
  • HTML was designed to display any stored information, it focuses on the layout of information.

Following are some advantages of XHTML:

  • XHTML is used as a compliment to HTML. With HTML, XHTML is used to transport data and display it efficiently.
  • XHTML is easy to understand and use.
  • XHTML allows user to define its own tags so that data can be stored according to user’s defined structure.
